The suffering of man came with the first sin in the Garden of Eden. Until man rejected the tree of life and the utopian world of Eden, there were no deadly things. The nature of all animal life was good. It was paradise. Deceived by the Devil, who appeared to Eve as a serpent; Adam and Eve chose a world with a mixture of good and evil (of the Devil); over the peace and goodness (of God). Watching the news or reading newspapers and news magazines; there is a constant reporting of the suffering of the human race. Innocent children and the helpless elderly and disabled seem to always get in the crossfire of the violence of our world. People want to blame God. Some get very angry with Him for the sufferings of the world; while others deny His existence altogether.
But we can’t have it both ways. We can’t demand and expect freedom of choice and then want to blame God because we have chosen the path of good and evil. We can’t blame God because we have desired to go our own way. There are cause and effect laws at play that bring about expected results. If we want to eliminate all suffering, it is easy; just repent! God is waiting for His creation to stop sinning and start living in Him! Die to sin! Embrace Apostolic teaching of that first sermon of the Christian Church preached by Peter:
Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
God wants us to choose Him over sin. He gives us freedom to choose because He doesn’t want a bunch of mindless robots. Jesus Christ is looking for a bride, a mate for all eternity; to share life at the awesome God level. He wants us to be one with Him. The death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, makes it possible for us to be one with God!
John 17:11 And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.
John 17:16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
John 17:21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.
The key here is that we must not be a part of this world, if we expect to be a part of God and His glorious kingdom. We must follow Jesus, who was not of this world. We must die to sin, die to this world and be transformed in Christ. At His return, Christ will restore peace, love and beauty; no more tears. Read, pray and meditate on the scripture below, as they hold the picture of a new world coming with Jesus’ return!
Isaiah 25:8 He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it.
Isaiah 11:9 They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.
Isaiah 65:25 The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the bullock: and dust shall be the serpent's meat. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, saith the LORD.
Revelation 7:17 For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.
Revelation 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
This world will not voluntarily choose Christ; but the time is coming when they will not have a choice. True Christians choose now! It is your choice.
Prayer: Father you are the God of peace, love and beauty. The ugly suffering of this world will come to an end at your return. Help me to chose you every day and to die daily to sin and this world. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
