All Languages Are Imperfect

Sometimes the Bible makes statements that are confusing because it tries to describe with ancient language things that were not yet invented and technologies that were not yet developed at the time of the writing.  One excellent example is in the book of Revelation, written by the Apostle John who never saw a helicopter in the 1^st century.  He describes end time events and warfare.  To him, helicopters would look like locust.  These helicopters in the vision delivered some sort of biological weapon that inflicted death for five months.  John never knew about biological weapons or helicopters, so he described them in the language of his day.

Revelation 9:7-10 KJV  And the shapes of the locusts were like unto horses prepared unto battle; and on their heads were as it were crowns like gold, and their faces were as the faces of men.  (8)  And they had hair as the hair of women, and their teeth were as the teeth of lions.  (9)  And they had breastplates, as it were breastplates of iron; and the sound of their wings was as the sound of chariots of many horses running to battle.  (10)  And they had tails like unto scorpions, and there were stings in their tails: and their power was to hurt men five months.

Sitting At His Own Right Hand

Many have a difficulty with the oneness of God; that Jesus is the Father, Jesus is the Son and Jesus is the Holy Ghost because Jesus sits in heaven at the right hand of God; with the Father.  Any one and anything can be positioned on its own right.  Every Boy Scout learns American Flag Regulations; which says that the American flag must always be positioned on its own right.  For Jesus to be the Father and to be seated on His own right does make sense. 

Hebrews 1:1-3 ESV  Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets,  (2)  but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world.  (3)  He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,

Revelation 3:21 KJV  To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.

We have also heard people respond to a question like, “Who is there?” with the response, “Just me, myself and I.”  We have no problem seeing ourselves in multiple roles because we are like God, made in His image and likeness.  This should not be a mystery; but remember, no language has ever been perfect.  Any confusion will be made clear in the Kingdom.  The most important issue is to make sure that our spiritual house is in order and that we are living in the Holy Ghost; that is yielding to Jesus as LORD and allowing Him to live in us.  Time may be short.  The Day of the LORD is near.
