Gushing Fountains Of Endless Life

During my recent illness in the hospital; a swallowing problem kept me on a feeding tube and prevented me from eating or drinking anything for three weeks.  Slowly the hospital introduced pureed foods and thickened liquids.  This restriction was imposed for another four weeks at the rehabilitation center.  After eight weeks in the hospital; the desire for an icy cold glass of crystal clear water began to drive me nuts with obsession of thirst.

Reading about Jesus’ encounter with the woman from Samaria, at the well of Jacob reminds me of that powerful thirst that consumed my thoughts when going through eight weeks without pure water.  Liquids thickened with corn starch do not quench a thirst for pure water.

John 4:14 NCV 13 Jesus answered, "Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, 14 but whoever drinks the water I give will never be thirsty. The water I give will become a spring of water gushing up inside that person, giving eternal life."

“gushing fountains of endless life…”   MSG

“a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.”   NKJV

God designed our bodies to be made up of pure water; with the need of pure water to be daily replenished.  Upwards to 94% of the human body is water; life giving water!  Natural thirst is a powerful drive of human life.  For the water of life to spring up within us as a gushing fountain of eternal life is quite an awesome picture.  Every living thing exists from cells comprised of water.  Don’t water a plant and it will droop and ultimately die.  Dehydration in humans will lead to death; likewise in animals.

At the throne of God in New Jerusalem, there will be the tree of life and out from that tree and throne will spring a river that will carry the leaves of the tree of life for the healing of the nations.

Revelation 22:1-5 KJV And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.  (2)  In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.  (3)  And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:  (4)  And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads.  (5)  And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.

Friends, this excites me!  Ever greater than having eternal life contained within us; is the promise of Jesus.  That life force will flow out of us and from us to give eternal life to others; else why would it flow out of our belly?  It flows out as life giving love that waters and nourishes with hope and bowels of mercies, kindness and patience (longsuffering).  Read Colossians 3:12-13 below.

John 7:37-39 KJV  In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.  (38)   He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.  (39)  (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)

Colossians 3:12-13 KJV Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;  (13)  Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.

Truly deep and abiding love is felt in our bowels; our stomachs.  A person can become “love sick;” feeling the love for another deep inside.  Tragedy can be felt and shared among very close friends.  We are to care about this sin sick and dying world that is lost; seek and save that which is lost.

Luke 19:10 KJV For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.

We support missionaries that change people’s lives in foreign nations.  The Great Commission is being fulfilled in our present day.  Everything that God gives us, we are to give in return.  The LORD has entrusted us with His Gospel of hope and salvation.  It should be flowing out of us along with the Holy Ghost as we carry the light of Christ and the healing of the nations to the world through the great commission.

The president of Haiti called his nation to three days of fasting and prayer; a call to repentance.  More than a million people flooded around the presidential palace each of the three days.  A video of that event is found on the YouTube link below.

I believe that we will see entire nations repent before the return of Jesus Christ!  World revival is beginning to take place.  We who are apostolic and have the Holy Ghost; we have the power to bring about change.  Our bodies, now in the flesh are temples of the Holy Ghost!  Christ lives inside of us and goes before us!

1 Corinthians 6:19 KJV What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

We have the promise now!  It is fulfilled already in the blood washed, baptized in Jesus’ name, Holy Ghost filled saints of God, the true believers now in the flesh!  If you have not repented; been baptized in Jesus’ name and filled with the Holy Ghost; then now is the time to act!  This is your call from God as the scripture says.  You too can have rivers of living water flowing out of your belly; the life giving force of eternal life.  You too can share salvation with your friends, family and community beyond.  Below is an awesome music video from Indiana Bible College of young people making what Jesus said come to life.

There is a new world coming with the return of Jesus Christ.  You can be a part of it for all eternity in a very powerful and profound way if you answer the call of God!  GREAT THINGS ARE PROMISED TO THE ONE WHO OVERCOMES!  DON’T NEGLECT SO GREAT A SALVATION!
