Jesus Christ called His disciples and taught them one on one and in a small group. They in return shared the Good News, the Gospel one on one and in small groups. They met in each others homes. Today there is a resurgence of the Christian “House Church.” More than eleven million Christians are meeting in small groups in people’s homes, library family rooms, coffee houses and other small venues that accommodate less than fifteen people. In these intimate settings, fellowship soars as people really get to know one another. Larger well established churches today have realized how power small groups can be to build faith and fellowship. The church moves forward in profound ways when people know one another and it becomes personal.
Acts 20:20 And how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have shewed you, and have taught you publicly, and from house to house,
You can start a one on one Home Bible Study or Bible discussion group today. It will change your life as you start to immerse yourself into topical studies or make in a reading program with another person to read the entire Bible aloud. “Faith comes by hearing…” There is an added blessing to hearing the WORD audibly. Do it with another person!
Too many Christians believe in faith without works. Now it is not the works that saves us but rather, the works help us grow in the mind set of Christ our LORD. We can’t earn salvation; it is a free gift! Our position in the Kingdom will be determined by our works. The words below are the words of Jesus Christ.
Revelation 22:12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.
A reward is something that the saved can earn, but salvation is a gift and can not be earned. Grace is the unmerited pardon of Jesus Christ. He paid the penalty for our sin and freely gives life to all who believe and are baptized.
Mark 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
We are called out of this world to live in Christ for the Kingdom to come. We are ambassadors for Christ. We have been given a work. That work is not just being a spectator. We must each take an active responsibility for the work of the great commission. Become known as a minister of the Gospel, a Bible Preacher/Teacher. If you had enough knowledge to have been baptized in water in Jesus’ name and you received the Holy Ghost, then you have enough knowledge to share with another person one on one. Just one guide, let the Holy Ghost lead and let the Holy Ghost do the calling and converting. If we convince a person against their will, they will still be of their same old option still. Share, teach and nurture; let the Holy Ghost call, convict and convert!
