There have been so many misconceptions about the nature of God that we have absorbed through television, movies and the many opposing teachings of various Christian churches; the Holy Ghost teaching adds to the confusion and mystery.
We need to go back to the beginning of all things where we see God in His simplest description:
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
It is hard for us to understand spirit life because we are human with a form and take up space. God is Spirit, the one and only Holy Spirit or as translated in the King James Version of the Bible; Holy Ghost. In the beginning there was the WORD which was God. Before anything else, God was a voice; the omnipotent (all powerful), omniscient (all knowing) and omnipresent (all present) voice. The voice spoke only truth and then spoke into existence everything else that has ever existed, currently exists and ever will exist.
John 1:3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
Everything exists in God, the WORD, all powerful, all knowing (infinite intelligence) and ever present. All of the universe can not contain God; therefore, the entire universe is contained in God. This explains how God can be everywhere. The power of God holds our material universe together. Even science believes that the foundation of all matter is energy or power. Energy has no beginning and no end; but goes in and out of form.
The power of God went into fleshly form and dwelled among us as Jesus Christ who was fully God and fully man.
John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
God; whose name is Jesus Christ; relates to us as Father, Son and Friend (Comforter). Because He is Spirit, He is everywhere and in everything. He holds the atoms together that form the material universe and our very flesh.
The Holy Ghost or Holy Spirit is Jesus Christ’s presence in our lives. Go back to Isaiah to see the all encompassing description of Jesus Christ, the WORD made flesh, Immanuel or God with us:
Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
Jesus Christ is all things to all people. He is Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
If we invite Him into our lives, He will live in us. We have to first REPENT, BE BAPTIZED IN JESUS’ NAME and then He will live in us through the Holy Ghost. And He will freely give of Himself as promised in Luke 11.
1 Corinthians 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
Luke 11:13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?
You need Jesus Christ living in you through the Holy Ghost. He wants to be present in your life. REPENT, BE BAPTIZED AND RECEIVE CHRIST, RECEIVE THE HOLY GHOST. YOU NEED TO DO THIS TODAY!
