Success, Accomplishment and Greatness

Bill Gates has achieved world domination with his Microsoft Empire and has turned over 10,000 of his employees into millionaires.  A billionaire conqueror with an army of millionaire generals has left a mighty footprint on the pages of history and in your daily lives.  Yet none of these mighty techno giants will be able to take one cent of their wealth into eternity.  Not one emperor, king or Wall Street mogul has ever taken their wealth and power with them into eternal life.

God has created man in His own image and likeness.  This was not just an impulse or an after thought of our Creator.  In fact, everything that has been created; was done for man to be like God.  Then God became like man in Jesus Christ; so that man could be eternally and fully like God and joint-heirs with Christ.

Romans 8:17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

Man has recognized his incredible human potential and divine design; but has been satisfied with material wealth and power for a limited life span in the flesh; forsaking the eternal inheritance in glory with Christ the LORD.

Many men and women have been inspired by the following statement and have taken control of their lives.  The statement is true, however we need to give control to Jesus and not take control for ourselves.

“Man was designed for success; engineered for accomplishment and endowed with the seeds of greatness.”   Zig Ziglar

Matthew 10:39 He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.

We are so consumed with grabbing all of the gusto of this short, temporary, physical life; that we neglect our destiny, our real purpose for eternal life with greater riches than we could ever imagine.

Material wealth and power is impressive in our society.  Most of us have had to struggle to scratch out our living; but this is not God’s will.  Jesus told us to consider the lilies.  We struggle because we don’t trust God to take care of us.  We fix our sights on material wealth instead of our eternal inheritance with Christ.  God created us to have dominion; but we must first be dominated by Him and trust Jesus!

Psalms 8:6 KJV Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:

God does not want us to be slaves to this world’s economy.  It does not matter what the stock market is doing and it doesn’t matter how many tens of thousands of jobs are be laid off, outsourced and eliminated.  God promises to take care of us if we trust Him and put Him first in our lives.

Luke 12:27-28 Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.  (28)  If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith?

We are here for God’s good pleasure.  If we would only realize and trust that God has endowed us with greatness if we would only put our lives in His hands and completely trust Him, live for Him and put Him first in all things!
